Outcomes Measurement:
As a recognized expert on one of the thorniest issues in the nonprofit sector — outcomes measurement — Carlisle & Company works closely with nonprofit organizations to help them document the impact or “return” of their programs.
From (re)writing the mission statement, to identifying intended outcomes, to designing measurement tools and simple data collection systems and finally, to analyzing the data and presenting the results, Carlisle is there every step of the way. We leave each client with an electronic measurement tool that they can use on their own in the future. In addition to our consulting projects, we have led workshops on this topic for non-profit groups.
Past Clients include: AYES, Boys and Girls Clubs, Employment Options, Indian Hill Music Center, Metrowest Health Care Foundation, Restoration Project, YMCA.

Strategic Planning:
Carlisle designs strategic fund development plans, essentially business plans for fundraising. For a human service provider we facilitated a complete SWOT Analysis, organized a volunteer-driven market research process, analyzed the results, and then helped the agency develop a detailed plan for building a “culture of philanthropy.” The agency has implemented every one of Carlisle’s recommendations. Donations and community visibility are up, and volunteer and Board involvement have increased dramatically.
Past Clients include: Metrowest Nonprofit Network, Minuteman Arc for Human Services, Organization for the Assabet River

Business Planning:
Carlisle & Company developed a business plan for an international human rights education organization. We planned the expansion of their existing on-line instruction into self-paced, introductory short courses. Once developed, the short on-line courses would continue to provide revenue with no additional investment of time or cost. The implementation of our plan helped raise enough revenue so that the organization could hire a technology specialist.

Logistical Analysis:
Carlisle leverages its logistical know-how in designing delivery route schedules, transportation and warehouse layouts for local non-profit organizations.
For one well-known Detroit human rights organization we introduced process efficiencies that dramatically increased delivery capacity without adding cost. In the end, we found 23% extra truck capacity and 172% extra van capacity per month. Translated, this meant that the agency only had to use their truck 15 days a month to fulfill their existing orders. The new schedules have been a great success ever since their implementation.
